New champion to be crowned in BOG
The Men In Black who were the BOG champion for the past four years failed to go past the pool stages after losing to Rewa 2-1 in the opening pool game, drew 2 all with Navua before beating Labasa and Tavua 4-nil.
The Farouk Janeman coached side had to wait for the Navua and Rewa game last night hoping that the delta tigers could have drawn or beaten their opponents but Navua in that game won 1-nil.
Rewa finished as the number 1 team from Pool 1 with 9 points and their only loss was in the last game to Navua.
Navua finished at second place with 8 points although they remain unbeaten in their pool.
Rewa coach Manoj Kumar said he has a plan for his players that he will reveal in the semifinal.
For Navua coach Gurjeet Singh, he said reaching the semifinal will not be easy after the 1-nil win against Rewa.
Last night's results, Ba 4 - Tavua 0, Nadi drew 1 all with Nadroga, Rewa thumped Labasa 4-nil and in the last game, Nadi defeated Lautoka 3-0 to claim the top spot of Pool 2.
In the first semifinal at 9am, Rewa will take on Lautoka and at 10.30 Navua plays Nadi.
