The new chairperson for the South Pacific Fertilizers Limited is expected to be elected today.
Directors for the company including representatives of the Sugar Cane Growers Council Marika Silimaibau and Growers Fund's Sada Siwan are also part of the meeting underway in Lautoka.
Indications are that Marika Silimaibau will be the next chairperson for the South Pacific Fertilizers Limited.
Former Chairman, Surendra Sharma said he resigned from this position as he could not look after the interests of the farmers while holding this position.
He added the issue about loss made by the fertilizer company also forced him to take this action.
