Police are investigating a case whereby a 22 year old woman of Delainavesi gave birth to a baby girl wrapped her in a plastic bag and locked her inside a suitcase which led to the death of the baby.
Assistant Spokesperson Corporal Josaia Weicavu has confirmed that the woman gave birth on Sunday evening however the matter was reported to police yesterday afternoon when the woman's mother found out.
The woman's 50 year old mother found the baby when cleaning the house yesterday when she opened the suitcase.
The baby's mother is now admitted at the CWM hospital.
The post mortem of the baby is expected to be conducted later today.
