The attractiveness of the Fijian people is a major driving factor resulting in many New Zealanders choosing to holiday in Fiji despite differences within the two governments.

Tourism Fiji Regional Director Sala Toganivalu said while their campaign on attracting as many tourists from New Zealand to come over to Fiji may face some hurdles, New Zealanders are more keen on having a relaxing holiday and that is the reason why they continue to flock to Fiji in large numbers.

She added the recent record in visitor arrivals from New Zealand is a testament to that fact.
