New Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie is eyeing the Bledisloe Cup as a great opportunity at the start of his new role.

The Victorian born former Wallaby prop was officially unveiled as the new Australian coach yesterday just a few hours after the Australian Rugby Union announced Robbie Deans had stepped down after 74 Tests.

McKenzie has turned around the performances of both Queensland and NSW over the past decade.

Australia have won just four of their past 25 matches against New Zealand and, the last time they won two or more in succession, was back in 2001.
