The Fiji Labour Party (FLP) leader has stressed that the FLP wants the race based electoral system to be scrapped but he said the voting system proposed by the National Council for Building a Better Fiji (NCBBF) is too confusing.
Mahendra Chaudhry said comments by the SDL and NFP that he approved the draft Charter when he was a member of the NCBBF and an interim minister carries no weight.
Chaudhry said people should understand that anyone can make positive contributions on what needs to be in the draft Charter and that's what the FLP is doing after going through its own public consultations.
Meanwhile, the FLP National Council meeting to decide on the draft Charter which was supposed to be held in Ba today, had been deferred to a later date.
