Over 200 jobs are expected to be created after the opening of the New Tappoo City building in Suva.
Tappoo CEO Madhu Tappoo said Tappoo City is a joint venture between Fiji National Provident Fund and Tappoo Group.
Tappoo is both the anchor and the head lease of the entire building.
Tappoo hopes this project will live up to its billing to become the new icon of Suva's Central Business District.
The first three floors of the building will house the Tappoos flagship new department store.
The store has been designed by international retail design specialists that will match with the finest international department stores around the world.
The first three floors are being prepared to open for business during the second week of next month.
Tappoo said this is a $50 million project.
