The first 3 floors of the new Tappoo City building in Suva is on track to open for business next week.

Tappoo CEO Madhu Tappoo said the first 3 floors of the building will house the Tappoos flagship new department store which has been designed by international retail design specialists to match the finest international department stores around the world.

According to Tappoo the shoppers will feel as they are in a large department store in Australia or Europe.

The 4th floor which comprises a modern and unique food court a market pharmacy and specialist stores, is expected to be opened for business within the first quarter of next year.

The two top floors are reserved for large offices and are expected to be available for letting soon after the food court level opening. The entire building is centrally air conditioned, has backup power generators, water tanks and all modern service amenities, glass lifts, escalators and a car park.

Tappoo City is a joint venture between Fiji National Provident Fund and Tappoo Group. It is a 50 million dollar project.

Over 200 jobs are expected to be created after the opening of the stores.
