The newly promulgated Road User Tax comes into force from tomorrow and vehicle owners are being reminded to be aware that they would have to pay more to have their vehicles registered and passed by the Land Transport Authority.
Transport Ministry Spokesperson Sainiana Waqainbete said all systems are now in place to implement the new tax which was announced in the 2009 national budget.
Waqainabete said the tax would vary depending on the type of vehicle.
All the money generated through the Road User tax would be used for the maintenance and upgrade of roads around the country.
