The Suva Water Supply Department is expected to install new water pumps at the Waimanu pumping station this year to improve water levels at the reservoirs.
Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern, Sereicokocoko Yanuyanurua said dry weather conditions in the Central Division has resulted in low levels of water at some reservoirs and has forced the Water Supply Department to start water rationing during off peak hours in parts of Suva and Lami.
He added water supply may be affected between 9pm to 4am everyday in Samabula, the Rewa Street area, High areas of Lami, Delainavesi and nearby areas.
