The newly formed NGO, The Foundation for the Education of Needy Children in Fiji, or FEN-C-Fiji, is calling for volunteers and donors to help cater to the educational needs of children in the country.
Chairman of the Interim Organizing Committee John Samy said it will be a great help if people volunteered their time to help provide education and related support to help the poorest of the poor families in Fiji.
Samy said the new NGO was an idea born out of the Charter Process adding the government has given the NGO $200,000 seed money.
He added they will be organizing fundraising efforts and writing to individuals and business houses as a way of financing the organization.
Trustee Loraine Tevi said even if a person were to give $1, it would go along way adding helping decrease poverty is on us.
