After thirty years, the people of Nakoromakawa will now be able to transport their farm produce into town with the opening of new Logani Road in Tailevu.

The road was opened yesterday by the Permanent Secretary for Provincial Development Manasa Vaniqi.

The road was constructed as part of Government's rural road upgrading project at a cost of $66,190.

Vaniqi said the Government is committed to improve the standard of living to people in the rural areas.

Vaniqi said the new road will benefit more than 30 families of Nakoromakawa which has been inaccessible by road for the last 30 years.

He said in the past the farmers had to walk 2 and a half kilometers to the main road to get to the main road, but now farmers will be able to transport their farm supply easily to the market.

One of Government's priority is to provide development for the rural communities and also provides funds for the villagers in the maritime Islands in terms of improving their living standard.
