The Chairman of the Tailevu Provincial Council is optimistic that the new Korovou to Lodoni road will encourage more development within the area.
Josefa Serulagilagi said the combination of bad weather and poor road conditions in the past was always a major obstacle for farmers in the area to bring their produce to the main markets, however this will be a thing of the past.
Serulagilagi added one of the industry predicted to greatly benefit is the dairy industry.
