The Tropic Health Incorporated Fiji Limited is looking into having a local private hospital in the northern division after its new Suva Bayview Medical Centre next year.

The Laboratory Director of Bayview Medical Care Centre, Arveen Chandra said they will be doing a market research in the north and plan to build a hospital in Labasa as well.

Chandra said they are currently having workshops at various places and districts informing people about health issues. He said after a survey they found out that people have to wait for hours at the hospitals and health centres before they are seen by medical professionals and the costs are also high.

According to Chandra, this prompted some general practitioners and specialists to join hands and come up with a hospital which will be cheaper, private and where providing the best service will be the theme.
