The President's new Fiji Government is fully committed to promoting strong external partnerships and network of allies for better bilateral, regional and multilateral relations for the best interest of Fiji and its people.

These are the words of Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama following a meeting with Sri Lanka's new non-resident High Commissioner, Sanaka Walgampaya.

Bainimarama says Sri Lanka is one of the first countries to enter Fiji during the appointment of the new Fiji government and while this is indicative of long lasting friendship, it also shows Fiji's continued commitment towards the International community.

Walgampaya has already presented his credentials to the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
