There is hope that Fiji rugby can soon find some funding through the new Fiji Sports Commission.
Interim Sports Commission chairperson Peter Mazey said one of their main aims is to look at the needs of the Fiji Rugby Union.
Mazey added they want Fiji rugby to prosper.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Sports Commission will now look after the sporting bodies but it will not have a conflict of interest with FASANOC.
The new sports commission board members include Cathy Wong, David Voss, the Permanent Secretary for Finance, Permanent Secretary for Youth and Sports, Iliesa Delana, Litiana Loabuka and Shashi Bhindi.
The Sports Commission is allocated $1.5 million in this year’s national budget.
