The new board of the Fiji Rugby Union is determined that it will do whatever possible to turn the financial situation around and deliver the best results for those involved in rugby and the country as a whole.

New Chairman and Permanent Secretary for Finance, Filimoni Waqabaca said the board is not wasting any time and they have already had five meetings.

Waqabaca said they are seriously analysing how the FRU recorded a loss of $600,000 last year and immediate steps that need to be taken.

Waqabaca said the financial committee that has been set up is headed by Daniel Whippy and include Baljeet Singh, Napolioni Batimala and himself.

He said the board has already created history by even having early morning meetings starting at 7am which was not done in the past.

Waqabaca said they are looking at all the key performance indicators for FRU and the staffing structure and requirements.

He said an urgent approach is required and they are in the process of doing that.
