A local businessman has ventured into a new product using coconuts, which he is confident can become a multimillion dollar industry in the very near future.
Managing Director of Cocofresh Fiji Limited David Campbell revealed that his new brand of coconut cream will hit the supermarket shelves from this week.
Campbell said their future plan is to tap into the huge export market for the new product as our Pacific neighbors import millions of litres of coconut cream every year from Asian countries.
Campbell confirmed that the government has also provided a grant to his company to get the process started and they are now teaming up with Rewa Dairy on trial runs to treat and package the coconut cream in cartons which will increase the shelf life of the new product.
