Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner for the Fiji Independent Committee against Corruption Lt. Colonel Wesly Langman has appointed a new Chief investigator of FICAC.
At a press conference this afternoon, Langman revealed that Marika Taufa will now be the chief Investigator after a memorandum of understanding to be signed between FICAC and the Fiji Police Force.
Langman said current Chief Investigator SP Nazir Ali and his team will return to the Police Force and will be responsible to conduct investigations of corruption within the force.
He said FICAC will now handle all the serious allegations while other minor cases will be handled by SP Ali and his team.
Meanwhile, the new Deputy Commissioner of FICAC said they are now drawing up long term plans to stream line FICAC's operations.
