A new champion will be crowned this year in the Coca Cola Zero Deans secondary schools rugby tournament after the Suva Grammar Under-19 team defeated Queen Victoria School 6-3 in the quarterfinals yesterday.

Suva Grammar centre, Saiasi Mataitoga successfully kicked a penalty in the dying minutes of sudden death to allow the Lions to advance into next week’s semifinal.

Suva Grammar will now go on to meet Ratu Kadavulevu in the semis next week while Lelean Memorial School will meet Nasinu Secondary.

Looking at the other Tier 1 semifinalists: In the Under-14 Marist/QVS, RKS/SGS, Under 15 Natabua High School/RKS, QVS/MBHS, Under-16 Natabua/RKS, LMS/SGS, Under-17 SGS/RKS, LMS/MBHS,
Under-18 LMS/QVS, MBHS/RKS.

The semifinals will be played at Churchill Park in Lautoka on August 15-16.
