The teachers, students and officials of the Fiji Society for the Blind today has every reason to smile after they received the much awaited assistance from the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation.
The Executive Director of Fiji Society for the Blind, Barbara Faroukh says the $10,380 assistance is a timely one as they have to urgently buy a Braille Embossing Machine and computers for the students.
Meanwhile, 10 new hearing impaired students will now be able to study without thinking much about their expenses after the Gospel School for the Deaf in Suva received $30,200.
School official Claudette Wilson said this grant will allow these waitlisted students to stay at the hostel. She also says they are covering a vast number of places to help these special children.
The other organisations who also received grants from Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation include Lions Club of Labasa, Rotary Pacific Water for Life, National Fire Authority and Rotoract Club of Suva.
