Another positive sign for the tourism industry in Fiji as Nadi based Sunflower Aviation Limited is the latest aircraft operator to be given the approval to operate chartered flights within Fiji.
Sunflower Aviation is a Fiji owned and operated company and is investing around $6 million for its fleet of six aircraft types and other capital works for the maintenance of the hanger and office building.
Chairman of Sunflower Aviation Don Collingwood told Fijivillage news that they will be providing only chartered flights to remote islands and communities.
The airline company will provide chartered services to places like Kadavu, Savusavu, Taveuni, Koro, Gau, Moala, Malolo-lailai and Mana island and in addition it will also carry freight and cargo and provide support for search and rescue missions and will also be available at all times for medical evacuations.
Collingwood said at this stage they have no intentions to compete for the routes being serviced by Pacific Sun.
