The Asco Motors Fiji Netball team has bowed out of the World Netball Championships after they were defeated by the Cook Islands by 42 goals to 36.

The Vilimaina Davu coached side could not fend off the might of their Pacific Island neighbours who were leading at halftime with a narrow margin of 22 goals to 21.

Jamaica tops Fiji's pool while the Cook Islands is the second team to advance into the quarterfinals which begins tomorrow.

They will now go on to the playoffs for the 9th to 16th position.

Fiji was ranked eighth going into the WNC and will no longer be in the top eight after the loss to the Cook Islands this afternoon.

In other games played so far; Barbados beat Malaysia by 62 goals to 38, Malawi beat Wales by 55-52, and Australia thrashed Scotland by 93 goals to 20.
