After a losing battle in securing overseas exposure for her national squad, national netball coach Melissa Walker is now running through the fitness levels of her girls for the Pacific Series in Samoa as a buildup for the Mini Games later this year.
The side which has the services of Mere Rabuka, Taraima Rara and Matila Waqanidrola, has been trying to get more international games, but Walker said they will have to play a waiting game now.
This is a chance for her to gauge the fitness of her girls as the teams participating at the Pacific Series will be the same ones at the Mini Pacific Games.
The team has been training with fitness guru Samu Yavala and has been having regular test matches with the Suva Men's netball team.
The Mini Pacific Games will be held in September this year with the Pacific Series next month in Samoa.
