Only a day after dropping national netball coach Melissa Walker from travelling with the team to the Mini Games next week, Netball Fiji is already in negotiations with the Australian Institute of Sports to get a replacement coach.
Walker was told yesterday she has been dropped after Netball Fiji stated that they have not received any reports of the tournaments to which she has guided the side.
Speaking to Radio Australia, Walker said she does not know what is wrong with her and believes the problem lies with the executives.
Netball Fiji president Milika Munivai confirmed this afternoon a replacement is being sought as Netball Fiji cannot afford to be paying around $70,000 per annum for Walker's salary.
In this case, the new coach will come in for a maximum of three months and return and all costs will be covered by AIS.
Netball Fiji will only have to pay for her air fares.
The arrangement also allows for local coach Unaisi Rokoura to go for coaching clinics to Australia.
