Netball case called in court
Walker has taken Netball Fiji officials, Milika Muanivai, Wati Seeto, Christina Rokoua and Patricia Rokoua to court for breach of her employment contract.
The FNA officials are represented by Niko Nawaikula's lawfirm.
Nawaikula was not present in court this morning however he instructed another lawyer to act on his behalf.
Walker is being represented by Laurel Vaurasi.
Magistrate Mary Muir told the Netball officials and their lawyer not to drag their feet meaning not to delay the proceedings as she is aware of the difficult circumstances that Walker is in.
Magistrate Muir told the officials and their lawyer to file the statement of defence by 8th December saying that she is fully aware of the financial difficulties and Immigration issues Walker is currently facing.
The case has been adjourned till 18th of next month to fix a hearing date.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Muir told lawyers in court this morning that she has to go through a number of cases everyday and it’s only appropriate that they do not seek an adjournment date convenient to them.
She also said that she was hearing cases during lunch hour yesterday and the court dates are fully booked for this year.
According to Magistrate Muir the courts have so many cases to deal with, which will see her even hearing cases on Christmas Eve.
