Netball Fiji will have a new president from this season.

Association secretary Patricia Rokoua has confirmed that she has received a few nominations from the Netball Fiji executives for the president's post.

Rokoua said a few other district officials were interested in taking up the top post but the nominations closed last week.

The new president will take over from Alice Tabete after she was sacked by the Netball Fiji council because of Fiji team's dismal performance in the World Netball Championship and some decisions she had made without consulting other executive members.

Tabete is still in New Zealand and efforts to speak to her proved futile but she earlier mentioned that she will take legal action if Netball Fiji Council appoints someone in her place without following the constitution.

Netball Fiji will have its Annual General Meeting next week.
