Fiji will now need to win the remaining two matches against Wales and Trinidad and Tobago to qualify for the playoffs.
In the match last night, Fiji displayed some spirit in the first and second quarter, however, in the last two quarters Fiji just could not keep up with the pace.
Fiji team captain, Matila Waqanidrola said morale in the camp is still high after the NZ game.
In the matches played yesterday, Jamaica beat South Africa 72-45, Australia defeated Samoa 81-23, Wales lost to Trinidad & Tobago 51-48, Northern Ireland beat Sri Lanka 65-56, England defeated Malawi 65-33 and Barbados beat Malaysia 62-40.
Fiji will play Trinidad & Tobago at 3pm today.
