Netball Fiji executives will not change their stance on national head coach Melissa Walker, although she has appealed through FASANOC to let her take the team to the Pacific Mini Games next week.

Walker was told yesterday by Netball Fiji that she has been dropped from the team because they have not received the report from the South African tour and also they did not want to take the risk, as she is pregnant.

Walker this morning confirmed that she has dropped the letter at FASANOC and will wait for the decision.

But a close source within Netball Fiji said they will stick with their decision and Walker will not be travelling with the team to the Cook Islands.

It is also understood that Netball Fiji executives will hold a special council meeting on October 3rd to decide on Walker's three-year contract and the decision has been relayed to the Ministry of Sports who earlier intervened when Walker's contract was terminated after the South African tour.

The executive also mentioned that it was expensive to keep Walker, who was paid around $70,000 per annum.

The national netball side is now being coached by former captain Unaisi Rokoura.
