Netball Fiji is eyeing a respectable score-line in tonight's opening World Netball Championship against New Zealand.

Co-coach, Unaisi Rokoura with Gabby Qoro has an experienced line-up with the likes of captain Matila Waqanidrola, Seruwaia Vonolagi, Simone Nalatu, Mere Rabuka and Maria Lutua.

But past record between the two sides shows that they have met five times in the past 36 years, and the closest Fiji have come to the Ferns is 43 goals at the 1999 world championships in Christchurch.

For Fiji they will need to lose by a close score-line and beat Tridad and Tobago tomorrow and Wales on Wednesday to qualify for the quarter-final.

Fiji takes on New Zealand tonight at 7:30pm.

In the first game today, Jamaica beat South Africa 72-45 while Australia and Samoa match is underway.
