Netani Talei speaks out
That is the stand the Flying Fijians are taking as they shift their focus now to giving a good performance against Wales and end the RWC with some smiles.
Fiji 15s rugby team’s loose forward and the lone try scorer against Samoa, Netani Talei said it’s time to move forward.
However, Talei said while he is happy with his performance, the result last week was disappointing.
Flying Fijians will play Wales at 5pm this Sunday.
You can catch the live commentary of the Fiji and Wales match on our sister station, Viti FM with the voice of rugby Malakai Veisamasama and expert comments from former Wallaby and former Fiji player and 2007 RWC coach Ilivasi Tabua.
Still on the Rugby World Cup:
Italy’s hopes of reaching the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup for the first time remain alive after a 27-10 bonus point win over USA last night.
After running in nine tries in their previous win over Russia, Italy had hoped they could continue with a more expansive style of play against USA, but after they faced dogged tackling early on the tightened their grip on the match and rode out the storm.
Italy secured the bonus point when referee George Clancy awarded a penalty try after USA had collapsed a number of scrums on their own line midway through the second half.
It was the second time in two matches Italy have been awarded a penalty try after their scrum had been collapsed.
Italy now needs to beat Ireland this Sunday to reach the knockout stages.
In another match yesterday Japan and Canada drew 23-23.
At 6.30pm today, Georgia will play Romania in a Pool B match.
