Heart patients in Ba have received a much needed support for their coronary problems in the form of a donation of a $200,000 to the Ba Mission hospital from Nestle Fiji.
Previously heart patients had to travel forty minutes to the nearest CCU unit in Lautoka, this saw additional stress placed on them as they had to meet the extra costs associated with travel including time, money and energy.
Included in the Nestle donation is funding for the purchasing of specialized equipment, the training of local staff, and the upgrading of the premises.
Meanwhile, as part of their global initiative to improve health and fitness, Nestle Fiji this morning opened a new fitness centre along the Lautoka water front.
Agency Representative, Nathan Hilderand said that the initiative called the Milo Mile is open to the public and will see people to be able to take advantage of their free time to have a quick and easy exercise alternative.
