The Immigration Department is now working with Police to investigate claims by some Nepalese students that they were allegedly conned by an IT institution located in Suva.
Director Immigration, Major Nemani Vuniwaqa said they were notified by police and an investigation is underway to ascertain the facts.
He said the students are claiming that they paid a substantial amount of money to study at the Institution with nothing eventuating.
He said details are sketchy and more details will be released once they interview some of the students.
