Fiji's engagement with the European Union in the negotiations of a comprehensive economic partnership agreement remains intact.

Fiji's engagement with the EU had been disrupted after 2nd May this year.

Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said the European Union in consultation with all parties has reaffirmed Fiji's rights as a signatory to the Cotonou Agreement, which entitles Fiji to fully participate in the negotiations between the Pacific states and the European Union.

Kubuabola added Fiji supports the call by the EU to resolve differences and problems through dialogue and direct contact between the parties involved.
