The new Chief Executive of Land Transport Authority said he will bring necessary changes within the authority.

Naisa Tuinaceva said the recent rising trend of road fatalities and sad waste of productive lives is a concern, that they intend to immediately address and continue to see that we have safer vehicles, safer drivers and safer roads.

Tuinaceva added that they will look at improving enforcement and implementing strategies that could halt this trend, adding the LTA is also determined to clean up the roads on illegal activities and it is definitely going to happen.

Additionally, he said they will take a renewed approach towards improving the safety, comfort and efficiency of the Public Transportation System, which will mean some reforms on certain section of the public transport area.

Tuinaceva said basically people can expect an improved customer service and a heightened sensitivity to the transportation challenges, especially of those that live in the rural areas so that they can have the same access to markets, education and health services as many do in urban centers.

He added that changes can also be anticipated in the manner with which their officers= approach given tasks, with a level of professionalism that is beyond reproach.

Tuinaceva said their workforce will be moulded to be dynamic and always attuned to changing environment conditions, Government Policies in particular the People's Charter, international benchmarking and local needs so that they can be more proactive and remain relevant.
