One of the top marksman in the country, Valerio Nawatu is staying with Lautoka soccer for the rest of the year.
In an exclusive interview with Legend FM Sports, Nawatu confirmed he had applied for his release to join Ba but it did not go through.
Nawatu who has scored seven goals so far this season said Lautoka has a wealth of experience and they can lift the Battle of the Giants trophy next week.
Lautoka last won the Battle of the Giants back in 1985 but the Blues last won a major soccer title in 2008 where they beat Ba 1-0 at Govind Park to win the IDC.
Lautoka will play Navua at 1pm Sunday in the first round of the Inkk Mobile BOG at Subrail Park.
In other matches, Suva will play Nadi at 9am, Ba will take on Nadroga at 11am and Labasa will face Rewa at 3pm.
