Former Fiji TV boss, Mesake Nawari is the new Chairman of South Pacific Stock Exchange after the previous Chair Pramesh Sharma resigned from the position.

Nawari is currently the Senior Fellow at the Graduate School of Business at the University of the South Pacific.

He was the first Chief Executive Officer of the South Pacific Stock Exchange and he was instrumental in starting the first Call Market in July 1996 which was a catalyst in the development of Fiji's capital market.

He was also the first Manager of Fiji Stock Brokers and the Unit Trust of Fiji.

He established the Fijian Holdings Unit Trust where he was also its first General Manager.

Nawari also headed FHL Securities, the lead broker for the successful ATH's government share sell down to the public.

He was also the first Group Chief Executive Officer of Fiji Television Limited.
