The chairman of the Great Council of Chiefs Taskforce, Ratu Josateki Nawalowalo, said he respected the decision by the members of the Rewa Provincial Council, who have rejected the new look GCC.
Nawalowalo said it was the prerogative of the province to choose what was best for them.
Rewa Chief, Ro Filipe Tuisawau told FijiVillage yesterday that Rewa would not accept one of the new criteria that former members of Parliament within a stand-down period of 7 years would not be appointed. This condition would not allow the Paramount Chief of Burebasaga, the Roko Tui Dreketi Ro Teimumu Kepa to become a member of the GCC.
