People in Nawaka, Nadi, are concerned that they have not being given any rations from DISMAC following the flooding in western division.
Nawaka resident Navin Kumar said they need urgent assistance since they have lost everything and they have children to feed.
Kumar claimed that no government official has even visited them following the flooding.
Another resident Ashok Kumar said that he has been living in his neighbour’s house after the flood and needs urgent assistance.
According to Kumar, only a handful of religious organizations have come forward to provide assistance, however, it is not enough for them as he has lost everything.
Meanwhile, Principle DISMAC officer Patiliai Dobui has assured that everyone affected will be provided assistance.
When questioned how much is allocated to help the flood victims, Dobui said he cannot give an exact figure.
