Defending Champions of the Courts IDC Navua are not yet out of making it to the semi-finals as the team has lodged a protest against Nadroga.
Navua should have bowed out of the tournament after its match against Nadroga ended in a 0-0 draw but Fiji Football Association received a protest from Navua straight after the match.
Navua claims Nadroga fielded Koshmick Kumar who is a contracted player with America based Sacramento United club and thus cannot play for Nadroga.
The hearing of the protest is expected to be held today.
So far Rewa, Lautoka, Labasa and Nadi have booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Courts IDC however should Navua win their protest, Nadi will lose its semi-final spot.
But the surprise team of the tournament was Labasa who claimed a semi-final spot despite not being rated highly in the tournament.
The team, mostly made up of young players, meant business in the last match against Tavua yesterday and the 1-0 win was enough to guarantee them a semi-final spot.
Coach, Bal Sarju Reddy said his young brigade has a lot to prove in the semi-finals.
In the results of the matches played yesterday, Rewa beat Suva
2-1, Navua and Nadroga drew 0-0, Lautoka beat Ba 1-0, Labasa beat Tavua 1-0, Nasinu went down to Lautoka 1-0 and Nadi beat Tavua 2-0.
The Premier Division final will now be played between Dreketi and Tailevu Naitasiri.
Meanwhile, in the Secondary schools final, Labasa Sangam Collage beat Vasisht Muni Collage 2-1 and Ba Primary beat Lautoka Primary 1-0 in the Primary schools final.
The semi-finals and final of the Courts IDC will be played this Sunday at the TFL stadium.
