Navua braces for cyclone
Navua police said they have not received any reports of flooding as yet and the Queens Road is open to all traffic.
Meanwhile, Divisional Crime Officer Eastern ASP Arthur White said they are also facing heavy rain and strong winds and have not received any reports of flooding or landsides in any of the areas in Nausori.
Navua police have assisted in moving the patients who are admitted at the ground floor of Navua Hospital to the upper floors.
Officer in Charge at Navua Police Station SP Bolabiu said they are taking precaution now because Navua is a vulnerable area and it is always the first place to be flooded due to heavy rain.
Police are touring around the Navua, Namosi areas and monitoring the weather situation at this stage.
A few public services have been affected as a result of Tropical Cyclone Mick.
Superintendant for the CWM Hospital Sera Bainimarama said due to the bad weather they are closing all their clinics and those that are supposed to have their check-ups today at CWM have been advised to stay at home.
Bainimarama said they will set another date to have the patient check-ups.
