The Navua river has burst its banks and flood waters have entered into the Navua Hospital compound.
This has been confirmed by the Navua Police Station as their officers are on the ground monitoring the situation.
It has been confirmed that patients at the hospital are now being shifted to the higher floors at the hospital while the bodies kept at the mortuary are now being shifted to the CWM hospital.
Navua Police Station Officer Rajesh Prasad said Navua Methodist Church, Rampur College, Nuku District School and Serua Provincial Complex have been opened up as evacuation centres.
Flood waters have also reached Wainadoi village and Lobau village.
In Wainadoi, the Chevalier Centre has also been opened up as the evacuation centre as flood waters have reached the Wainadoi old crusher road and the road leading to ZIP Fiji Limited along the Queens Highway.
Meanwhile, a resident Basir Khan said waters have reached the compounds of some of the houses and people have started to move to higher ground.
Waimanu river bursts its banks
Waimanu River has also burst its banks.
The Hydrology Department said the Waimanu river has gone past the warning level of 5 metres.
The level is now 8.43m.
They said for the Wainibuka river, it has gone past the alert level of 5.0m and is now at 5.29m.
The warning level is 8m.
