DISMAC is advising people living near the Rewa and Navua Rivers to take action and move to high ground as the river levels have reached a critical point.
DISMAC Director Pajiliai Dobui said the residents should move now.
He said the next high tide is at midnight tonight and they are really concerned.
Dobui said they are also focusing on providing rations to the people now staying in evacuation centres in the Western division.
The total number of people at the centers in the West stands at 2,407 however this number is expected to rise even further later this afternoon.
Dobui also said that they have received some reports of missing people and Police are checking these reports.
