Permanent Secretary for Immigration, Malakai Tadulala and Immigration Director Viliame Naupoto are required to be in the High Court tomorrow.
This has been confirmed by Fiji Times Lawyer John Apted after a meeting in chambers with High Court Judge Justice Filimoni Jitoko and Solicitor General, Christopher Pryde with regards to the unlawful detainment of Fiji Times Publisher, Evan Hannah last Thursday.
Apted has confirmed the case has been adjourned until tomorrow.
Herbius Corpus is a court writ which is signed by a judge which calls on people who are detained to be produced in court, the order is mainly sought by the lawyers who believe that their client has been detained unlawfully therefore in this case, Fiji Times Lawyer Jon Apted filed a writ last week to produce Evan Hannah in Court on the afternoon of his deportation, which did not eventuate.
Apted also clarifies the whole reason why the case is being held.
Justice Jitoko has adjourned the case to 10am tomorrow to be held in Chambers.
