The Ministry of Lands has launched a nationwide drive to recover lease arrears on all state owned land which now stands at around $18 million.
Interim Minister for Lands Netani Sukanaivalu told Village news that the arrears have accumulated over the last three years and their Officials will now visit each individual lease holder to recover the debts.
Sukanaivalu said this is to also conduct a firsthand check to ensure that the land is being used for the purpose for which it was leased out.
