A National minimum wage baseline survey, the first of its kind, will be conducted by the Ministry of Labour next month - provided Cabinet approves the survey.
Labour Ministry Permanent Secretary, Taito Waqa said they will be engaging with market economists, professors and social scientists to strike a balance between economic and social areas of wages who will have access to FIRCA.
Waqa added that setting a minimum wage is one challenge, the other is how to review the minimum wage with formula mechanisms.
