The National Under-20 rugby side aims for a better finish in the Junior World Cup in France.

Fiji's best finish was in 2011 when they were placed sixth overall but our worst finish was in 2008 where we finished 14th out of 16.

Coach Viliame Gadolo knows they face a daunting task in their first match against New Zealand.

Gadolo said the players have one thing in mind.

Gadolo has five players from last year's squad including Sunia Tamani, Isikia Macu, Jimilai Rokoduru, Elia Ratucove and France based Sevanaia Galala.

The most capped JWC graduates for Fiji are Nikola Matawalu and Waisea Daveta who have played nine times for the Flying Fijians.

Meanwhile, Hurricanes flanker and New Zealand captain Ardie Savea who is the younger brother of All Blacks wing Julian Savea said it will be a tough match against Fiji.

The Fiji Under 20's will face New Zealand at 7.45am Thursday.

Fiji will then play Ireland at 4.45am next Monday before facing Australia at 7.45am next Friday.
