As the disciplined forces keep a close watch on the national security situation in the country during consultations on the draft Peoples Charter, the Interim Minister for Defence said people in the rural areas in the Northern Division are not letting their emotions get in their way in making a decision.

Ratu Epeli Ganilau, who has returned from an extensive tour of the Northern division said, from what he has seen firsthand, despite claims of a backlash due to the opposition to the draft charter, the national security situation remains calm.

Ratu Epeli said people in the rural areas want to move on with life in the best possible way and for the benefit of the nation.
