The National Federation Party has been denied permission to hold a meeting in Ba on Sunday based on an assessment of the security situation by the Police Force.
However, NFP General Secretary Pramod Rae told Village news that they are not satisfied with the explanation.
Rea said they are now seeking legal advice on the matter before deciding their next step claiming that the Fiji Labour Party has been allowed to hold its convention tomorrow.
Police Spokesperson ASP Uliasi Ravula told Village news that the decision was made based on the assessment from the Divisional Police Commander Western and the manpower available in the area.
Ravula also confirms that they are now in the processes of advising the Fiji Labour Party to postpone their planned convention tomorrow until further notice even though they had acquired the permit before hand.
He stresses that no one is being targeted as these decisions are for the welfare and safety of the general public.
