The Nasinu Town Council today has terminated two councilors and has informed them in writing that their seats are now vacant.
According to the Council, this is after the two councillors did not attend 3 consecutive council meetings held on the 19th of December, 2007, and the 7th and the 11th of January this year.
According to Acting Town Clerk for the council, Vinay Prasad the two councillors, Councilor Taniela Naulivou and Councilor Mosese Uluiceva from ward 5, which covers Kinoya and Laucala Beach did not follow the rules of the council and therefore such action was taken.
Prasad also adds that they have informed the Ministry of Local Government of their move. The two terminated councillors could not be reached for a comment.
